What is Chiropractic?
Taking a Natural Systemic Approach to Healing
Chiropractic is an approach of looking at the human body as a whole. It's based on the idea that the body is self-sustaining and self-healing.
The human body is controlled by brain and the functioning of the nervous system, through the spinal cord and the vast network of spinal and peripheral nerves that carry messages . When this system is not functioning at optimal level, the body’s overall performance suffers.
Chiropractic practice does not include the use of drugs or surgery. Many times pain medications or anti-inflammatory medications, while initially effective, only end up covering up the actual underlying cause of the problem, which is typically musculoskeletal in nature. We may also recommend supplementation and nutrition as an adjunct to treatment. Chiropractic treats the problem naturally and in turn prompts the body to self heal.
While it's often perceived that chiropractic solely treats back and neck pain, the reality is that when the nervous system is healthy, functions in the body improve. Chiropractors not only treat soft and hard tissue problems such as sciatica and joint pain, but can offer effective solutions for different health conditions, such as fibromyalgia, allergy issues, insomnia, headaches among many more.
